THE EASIEST CROCK POT BEANS EVER
This is a perfect recipe if you love making beans from scratch but don't have the time. The beans taste bright and fresh and only take 5 minutes to prep.

  1. Rinse beans and add them to a crock pot.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon salt and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
  3. Next, add enough water to add about an inch and a half above the beans in your crock pot. Better to have a little more than less so the beans don't dry out.
  4. Stir all the ingredients and set the cook time on your crock pot for either 4 hours (high) or 8 hours (low).
  5. When done, strain beans and salt to taste.

This recipe works for any dry bean except lentils, which don't need as much cook time.

The apple cider vinegar really helps to liven up the flavor.

If you have extra juice after making the beans, it tastes great in soups and helps to thicken.

If a pound of beans seems like too much to cook all at once, the recipe will also work in half.  Or, the beans also freeze nicely which is great to have on hand in a pinch.
